Audio drop outs printing with Video Capture 2.0b build 39

Ever since I installed build 39, I get drop outs in the
audio when I print to tape. The video is fine.

Has anyone else seen this problem? Found a work-around?

Does anyone have the install tool for the old build level?
Could you send it to me since I made the mistake of losing
the one I downloaded. I'd like the get the build that was
current in August (I don't know what build that was.)

Thanks a lot.

I don’t have this problem with Sonic Foundry Video Capture,
but it seems like a problem that several software packages
have or have had. I get predictable audio dropouts when
using VideoWave III. The release note for StudioDV say
they had an audio dropout problem but claim to have fixed
it. I have only found a couple of other people who mention
having the audio dropout problem in VideoWave. It's
frustrating when you have a problem that very few people
have and doesn't get much attention.

My dropout problem seemed like a camera/software
incompatibility problem, because when I recaptured
video/audio that had been printed to tape, the audio
dropouts disappeared. My camera is a Canon ZR10. Another
person having the problem in VideoWave identified his
camera as a Sony 310 D8.

Good luck.

Hi, David, can you give us your system specs including OS,
motherboard mfg, camera, 1394 card. Does any audio show up
on the device? Is the DV device showing up as "Microsoft
DV Camera and VCR"? on the Video Capture Video menu? Does
this only happen with Vegas rendered files or files you've
just captured with Video Capture? Does the audio drop out
happen when you're simply Previewing to the Device or only
when you're Printing to Tape? Thanks!

Also, see this MS website page which describes audio
dropouts on Win98SE:
