Audio in preview but not on timeline

I hear audio when I play clips in media pool but not when same clip is played on timeline. I have no volume envelopes, audio effects or volume changes in timeline. Where else do I look?

When on the timeline, the audio shows its peaks?

You can check maybe the master volume is turned down or that the mute button is clicked.

The peaks are shown & the track isn't muted.

I have now rendered out a silent clip from timeline & re imported it. The clip could not be heard on timeline but once rendered sound is in preview window but when I drag clip to timeline again I don't get sound there. Very strange.

I finally now have sound but I'm still not sure what happened. What I did was to open another instance of Vegas then selected all & did a paste into new instance, where sound is heard. I suspect some audio track setting but I have checked every setting in both instances & there exactly the same.

You said you didn't have the track muted, but maybe a different track was soloed?
