Hello.

Trying to import an mp4 video file, when played in VLC or any other media player the audio is fine.

When opened in Vegas the audio is completely distorted/static and will carry through after rendering.

Not sure what to do.
I have already tried this: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/new-avc-issues-in-vp15-try-disabling-so4compoundplug-dll--108345/

Vegas Version: 15.0 (Build 321)
OS: Windows10 64Bit.

Video properties from vegas: https://pastebin.com/1qxXbUkx

Where did the file come from? Post 'media info' as well. MP4 is just a wrapper, media info will show the codec,

I've had this problem for years with Vegas.   If I use audio from an external drive, I end up with your issue.  Only way around it for me is to move all audio to c drive.  Pain in the behind, but works for me.

I doubt Vegas Pro supports E-AC3 (DD+).

Vegas encodes AC-3 but does not decode it. Never did, some kind of licensing issue. You will have to convert the audio tracks to a Vegas friendly format.

Vegas Pro decodes AC3 if it is muxed with video. But this (in case of it is muxed) only works for AC3, not for E-AC3.
