Audio is not aligned with video

Basically, the audio from my recording is fine in the video but whenever I put it into sony vegas pro 16.0 it is off. At first I thought I will just move to sync but its getting further and further misaligned, for example at the start of the video it's off by 5 secs but around the 45 min mark it is off by 35. I don't wanna go through it all and fix it all. It's the same length of Audio as video and doesn't sound sped up and slowed down.

Quite likely the video uses a challenging codec (like H.265) rather than the more standard (H.264).

Open your original video in the free download MediaInfo. In MediaInfo set View to Text and then copy the text of that report and post it to this forum. Once we see the complete specs of the video we'll better be able to advise you.

Do you notice the pitch is changed slightly as well, if so, that is usually a sample rate mismatch. Confirm Vegas' audio properties are the same as the file's. Could be 48kHz file playing back at 44.1k. Normally though, different sample rates are not an issue with Vegas, but sh-t happens.
