Audio levels for multi busses

If two audio busses are running at zero db, will the final (combined) output be hotter or stay at zero db?

Yes, the output of two summed busses each operating at 0db will be hotter than 0db. Actually, +6db.

Thanks John. So how am I to know what my final output level is when using more than one buss?

Hi Craig,

Your master level meters in Vegas will reflect the sum of your buses.

Two buses: 'A' with tone at -12Db and 'B' with tone at -12Db will sum at the Master: -6Db

You might mix to avg. peak at -12Db at the master, since Vegas tone in PTT is also -12Db.

Hi Marty and thanks for the info. In 2.0 there isn't a master fader. Looks like SF added it in version 3. Yeah, I know I should have upgraded by now. But there were/are other things more important in the big picture.
