Audio on Blu-ray menu. DVDA 6

Hi All

I posted a question a good while back about an issue I was having whereby I could not get any audio on the menu title page when using DVDA 6 but there was no issue when doing exactly the same thing when using DVDA 5.2. The general feeling at the time was that there wasn't any real explanation and that I should just use 5.2. I have been doing this without any problems.

However, I have just burned a DVD with DVDA 6 and the audio on the title page is fine so my issue is only in respect of Blu-ray menus and not DVD's. So here's my question.....

Does anybody have any idea why my issue only surfaces with audio on Blu-ray menus and not DVD's? (The audio on the Blu-ray movie itself is fine using DVDA 6)

Thanks

was reported as a bug that sneaked into release 6 , but it will not be fixed.

Thanks VITG

Why wouldn't it be fixed I wonder? Also is there a place where you can easily see the differences between DVDA 5.2 and 6?

Sorry for the late entry here, I am usually in the VP forum.

I finished a couple of weeks back a BD project with 3 menu pages and background music for each and had no issue. Is this related to certain file types? I used wma files for the background music.

Interesting Old Smoke. My audio files are M4A format.

Can anybody put some light on this please? Meanwhile I'll try and convert the audio files and see what happens

I don't normally put audio on my menus, but I just made a BD with 44.1 kHz WAV audio on the main menu. DVDA 6 recompressed that audio to AC3.

When playing the BD, I hear a quick "psst" sound and then silence. On returning from the scene menu to the main menu, I hear it again.

Not good!

I prepared a similar test in DVDA 5.2 and all was well. I saved the project and loaded it into DVDA 6 and the result was not well.

I substituted an .AC3 file which DVDA 6 did not compress, and all was well.

The trick may be to use an audio file that DVDA accepts without recompression.
