Audio on left channel During Editing

Hi all, I'm a newbie here.

I have only had Vegas Pro for a few days so not at all up to speed with Vegas yet. Question is:

If I pull in an AVCHD Video clipt with audio and an sepearate music audio track (MP3), I only have audio coming out of the left speaker, this is while editing. Pan envelope is in the middle, if I move the pan for the mono or stereo track to the right channel the audio output diminishes as expected with what I am experiencing. (nothing coming out of the right speaker)

Thought I had problems with the speaker system but playing an MP3 file from window media player works fine, I have normal audio out of both left and right channels.

Any ideas ?

Assuming you want to 'create' a centered mono track for dialogue from your left-channel only track... Right-click the event and choose Left, Right or Both. Choosing Left (or Right) would create a centered mono file of one or the other. (dialogue for instance would be normally be mono and in the center, a stereo music bed would normally be in both L&R) This is a common question and is probably explained in the Vegas knowledge base.

Thanks much,

I am very new to "Vegas", and also have not discovered all of the resources for how to do things. Will try what you described when I get home this evening, Just seems like the mono camera audio should have been centered on both channelsby default ?
