Audio Options etc

We are using the Motu system that clocks with 3 DA88 units. When we
open up DVD Architect, it always kicks the sample rate back to 44.1. Is there
a preference or option setting that I am missing. I know that this is a visual
program, but there does not seem to be any control, like in VEGAS 4, for
audio content. The audio files that we pull in are all 48, why does it default
to 44.1?

I don't understand. What are you opening up in DVDA. What does DVDA have to do with your Motu System. You can't import files thru your Motu system directly into DVDA. I use my Motu to capture or record wave files (In Cubase , Vegas, or Sound Forge). I then mix in Vegas or Cubase to two track (48k or 44.1k). I then use Sound Forge to master two track files into finished wave files, either 48 or 44.1. I then import files into Vegas or other program to place with video. I usually render edited product to MPEG2 before bringing into DVDA. You can render to AC3 directly in Vegas, but I don't do that unless I want surround sound. It is easier to let DVDA render audio to AC3 or PCM format. Sometlimes, I bring wave files directly into DVDA for background music or music compilation. DVDA will accept files in Wave format and will render them to AC3 or PCM format. Note: standad for DVD is 48K.

From Sparrow,
My Tascam Digital D88 system uses the Motu to clock to. I track at 48.
When I leave Vegas, or Sound Forge 7 and open DVD, the rate defaults
back to 44.1, and my D88 no longer clocks, so the D88 system shows
error. It seems that when I open any file in DVD, the clock kicks back.

I can reset the rate on the motu to 48, and all is fine. Not sure why this happens.

If the default for DVD is 48, why does the clock kick back?

Thanks for the ear!
