Audio out of synch

phil-busardo wrote on 4/13/2018, 8:23 PM

I JUST upgraded from Vegas Pro 13 to 15 and purchased a new speedy Ryzen machine to go along with it.

The VERY FIRST video I imported into it start out with the audio synced, but as the clip continued to play, the sync came off. It almost looked as if the audio was playing correctly, but the video slowed down.

I imported the very same clip into Pro 13 and it played without issue.

I also tried to render the clip. Same thing. Audio came out of sync on the render with Pro 15 and it was perfect in Pro 13.

Hopefully this is a known issue or something simple I'm doing wrong.

Any help would be very much appreciated as I'm excited to take advantage of the speed and features of the new Pro 15.

Thanks so much!!

Thanks Mike.

VEGAS Version & Build: 15 v321
Windows Edition & Version: Windows 10, Version 1709
Camera App: You Cam (Audio is synced when just playing the clips)
Delivery Destination is Youtube, but the sync is off when editing and in the render
I've tried multiple different renders.
I also noticed when using this new machine, the sync is off when both Vegas 13 and Vegas 15 are used to render.

This is probably the issue:

Frame rate mode                          : Variable
Frame rate                               : 59.940 (59940/1000) FPS
Minimum frame rate                       : 30.000 FPS
Maximum frame rate                       : 250.000 FPS

No way that should look like that on a render. I have had issues w/ Vegas rendering out "Variable" frame rates and resolved it by using files from the FileIO Plug-ins folder of older Vegas versions. So4compoundplug actually fixed sync issues I would get in older versions so disabling it wasn't an option for me. Eventually I found the right file (AAC I think) to swap from an older version so the frame rate showed as "constant" in media info (and sync stayed consistent).

Thread: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/bug-magix-avc-w-nvidia-gpu-renders-variable-frame-rate-since-216--109496/

You could try copying all of the FileIO_Plugin folder files from V13 over the ones in V15 (obviously make a backup first). Anything new should remain but the older codecs (which worked) would replace newer ones that might be causing your problem.

My last post in that thread says I also removed the  "mcaacplug" (Main Concept AAC)." folder and that resolved it (but I'm sure I have a PC codec installed for AAC so if you don't that may not help).

Hey Joseph. Thanks, but that wasn't the media info report for the render, but rather a sample of a source clip that's giving me an issue.

Try disabling so4compoundplug: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/avc-xavc-s-issues-in-vp15-try-disabling-so4compoundplug-dll--108345/

Thanks Nick. I'll give that a shot and report back.

Nick, I tried this and it did not work. This is getting bothersome at this point. It's affecting my work now.

Before the new machine with Vegas Pro 13 everything was working just fine, and now, with the new machine (that was supposed to make my life easier and faster) I'm having this sync issue on both Vegas Pro 13 and 15. Using the same source clips as I used with the old machine.

I really need some help here and I need it QUICKLY!!

Any additional information you need from me I can give you.

Ok Nick, I actually tried it again on a second render it appears to have worked the second time. Perhaps I didn't make the change correctly on the first go.

I'll do a few more projects and make sure that solved the problem, come back here, thank you profusely, and mark this as solved! :-)
