I like it too -- kinda wish that there was a pitch envelope for audio tracks; that would be fun!

That would be the same as a velocity envelope for audio right? Sounds fun to me. Please wish for it in Product Suggestion.

I’ve been using the semi-tone pitch shifting with ACID Loops and the results are really great (especially since it shows the relative key, very cool). It might even come in handy for tuning music beds so they’re all in the same key. I’ll still be using ACID Pro 4.0 for composing, but its nice to be able to quickly tune a loop for use in Vegas. I’d imagine shifting the pitch in cents will be great for cleaning up vocal tracks. I plan to do all my music tracks in ACID and all my vocals (and mastering) in Vegas so I’m sure I’ll be using this feature.

What are the uses for dialogue?

Hey Spot,

When do you plan on updating the VASST agenda page? I'm curious to see how the new Vegas features fit into your seminar. Also still waiting on specific contest instructions.... Thanks.

I am trying to use the '=' and '-' keys to change the pitch of audio events in the timeline, but it doesn't display the ptch offset values in the event. The ptich changes, but no display.

Did you go into preferences and turn on Show active take information in events? This is not on be default and is needed to see the pitch change.

Was this question for me w.r.t my comment on vocal tracks? (I don't use the threaded view so I can't tell)

I can’t see any use for dialogue, I was referring to singing vocals with my music tracks. (of course if you’re into RAP music then the vocal track is just dialogue) ;-).

It was just a generic question on "does it have a use outside of music"

I think it will get used as an effect for speaking parts. I'm working on a ghost story idea (little girl gets "haunted") and it will be fun to shift her voice down. I tried it today on a clip I had from another project and it worked pretty well -- I split the audio track into four-frame chunks and lowered each chunk by 50 cents until I was down the pitch I wanted. Was kind of fun, actually.
