Haven't accidently muted your audio track (circle with a line through it on the controls to the left of the track)

Or perhaps clicked on the "solo" button (like an exclaimation mark) on your video track ?

First try to preview your captured file from either the Explorer or the Media Pool. If you have sound in this mode, you know you have a good capture and the problem is most likely as vonhosen described.

Can you see the "Audio Waveform" in one of the Audio tracks? If not then it has not come into VV yet. If this is the case start investigating your Import and or capturing procedure - yes? Oh yes - when you capture into VV some clip, do you see the wave form then? Can you play back your video in preview WITH the audio working? - This will show that VV is working.
