audio problem during render

As a hobby I video weddings using 2 cameras and starting using vegas 4 and don't know much about it. On one camera I use a wireless mic. When editing I usually let the volume be at the maximum. By that I mean that I don't know how to use the mixer (don't have a clue as to what the numbers mean) and if the volume is to loud I usually go the the audio track and just pull down the line lowering the volume. This has worked in the past. This time I did that and then rendered the wedding and when trying to print to tape the volume on that particular part is very low, you can hardly hear it. I then went back in and in the audio track moved the liine all the way back up and then rerendered and tried it again and it did the same thing. I honestly don't have a clue as to what is happening and really need some help. Thanks.....

Since I first posted this problem I went back into Vegas and started a new progject and used just the part where the vows were being said in the wedding, rendered it and printed out to tape. Guess what, no audio.. I just don't know what is happening and don't know what to do.

I really do need some help with this one....
Thanks in advance
