Audio Problems with Vegas Video 2.0

I'm wondering if anyone can help me here. I'm using Vegas Video 2.0 on Windows 98 and I'm having a bizarre audio problem. I have 47 audio tracks all of which sound great until the mixdown when number 47 seems to degrade into a tinny mess.
Any ideas please?

Not sure what you mean here. Is track 47 a tinny mess on it's own or do the 47 tracks together add up to a tinny mess? What plugins are active? Have you selected the start and end points of all tracks you want to include? What file format are you mixing to? Mp3? Wav?

Please supply more detail so I can understand the issue.
