Audio Processing Outside Of MS3

Just wondering what feedback I might get from people that are processing audio outside MS3. I have a ProTools digital audio setup and outboard equipment including a 48ch mixer, DVerb rack, etc. I want to remove a music track from a video and import it into my protools setup. Is there any advise I might need before getting involved in this, or is this pretty well as straight forward as I think it might be. Protools allows me to save in multiple formats including mpa. Im concerned about syncing issues especilly if the audio portion doesnt start immediately with video normally. If the video starts with 20 seconds of no audio during 20 seconds of video will I have to fill in this space with silence when I bring it back in. How hard is it to sync if it is out of sync??

TIA
Norm

Assuming that your project is already assembled and you won't be inserting or deleting time, this is incredibly simple. You can render the entire audio portion to a .wav file. This file will include the entire duration of the project, including any blank space at the beginning. Do whatever processing and editing you wish on this file, then place it back on Movie Studio's timeline starting at 00:00:00;00. Instant perfect sync because the beginning point is still the start of the timeline.

Excellent. Just what I hoped for.
