I can't think of a faster way -- wouldn't it just take a few minutes to drag it out to 8 hours? Just drag to the right and hold until you've got 8 hours. Doesn't this work?

Hi, xberk ...

Yes, dragging works but it's a pain for that long. Thanks for the help.

Make your Vegas screen small(er) so that you can move the mouse totally off the Vegas window onto your desktop. Dragging moves much faster that way.

With your drawn out event selected:

1) View->Edit Details

2) Double click the "Length" field.

3) Enter in 8 hours (in whatever time format you have selected).

Done.

It's still going to be faster to zoom all the way out from the timeline then drag the edge of the clip.

Hey. Never knew that.
View - Edit Details works fastest by far!
Zip. And you are done.
Never needed anything like it.
But thanks SonyMLogan.

The specially crafted white noise will be used in a hospital to cancel out normal background sounds for patients who can't otherwise sleep through the night. It works for them. Many thanks for the tip.

Why not play a recorded politicians speech ? Guaranteed to put anybody to sleep :+
That is a good trick with setting the time - you can also create a segment, copy and paste that a number of times then reselect the whole thing and repeat so you are making bigger segments (which goes faster).

Of course you could always drag it out 2 hours, copy the clip, then paste it 3 times... I don't know if thats easier...

Hi, backlit

No, it's not easier. I used SonyMLogan's tip and it was done in three milliseconds. All the other tips provided are known and very do-able but what's the point of dragging, cutting and pasting in the 21st century. It seemed so retro. With all the posts I made on this, I could have done it several times over already in the old way but I held out and was rewarded with instant gratification. That's what it's all about.
