Weird audio recording question! I'm using Vegas Pro 17. I'm on an Omen 30L Desktop GT13. Windows 10, graphics card is Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti.

I'm recording vocals directly from my USB microphone into a new audio layer in Vegas. There's a musical backing track underneath. I click arm mic to record in the new layer, then I speak away.

Two problems:

The audio records out-of-sync with the other audio backing track - sometimes as much as three-five seconds out of sync.

Sometimes, half-second chunks of my vocals just don't appear in the recorded track. So entire syllables of what I'm saying will just be cut out - the vocals will still record as one seamless track, but with tiny chunks missing.

It's not the mic, the cable, the USB port, or anything like that. I can record flawlessly and seamlessly into Audacity with no problem. It's definitely something going on with Vegas. Any thoughts? I'd be immensely grateful! Thank you!
