Audio Scrubbing Shortcomings

NickHope wrote on 5/22/2005, 3:01 AM
It's great that 6.0 now implements audio scrubbing on the cursor, but for me it still has 2 shortcomings:

1. I really wish there was an option to preserve the pitch of the audio during scrubbing. Premiere preserves the pitch and it makes it easier to find a precise frame while editing.

2. I really wish that it worked when spinning the jog dial of a Contour Shuttle Pro 2 (I'm talking about the silver inner dial, not the black outer dial).

Sorry if I sound like I'm moaning.

I think the problem for some with 1) might be CPU load, specialy given that Vegas is also trying to do RT preview and render FXs.

I am really surprised the Sony doesn't offer constant pitch scrubbing, since they've had this technology foreever in Sound Forge, and it also can be applied to a Vegas sound track, so it's in Vegas as well. Maybe the CPU load explains it.

I agree with everything Nick said;
A) I am thrilled that Sony now allows audio scrubbing
B) I'm dissapointed that it can't preserve pitch
C) I wish it work with my Shuttle Pro

I agree as well - would love to be able to have jog AND shuttle - especially on my shiny innermost ShuttlePro wheel

Ctrl key or right-mouse will give you fixed pitch scrubbing.
