Audio setup menu

Under project properties I see where you can select (numerically) which audio track to be used.

Where do you load the tracks to determine which one is 1, 2, and so on?

Also, what's the easiest way to have an option to run my project in stereo vs 5.1?

I'd like for it to keep the audio setting until you return to that menu to force change it.

thanks guys, as always...

Please undestand that a track is actually prepared in Vegas.

Most of us prepare a Dolby AC-3 Stereo track for most of our work.
If you have multiple microphones placed to pick up rear reflections
or if you add special foley you can create a 5.1 AC-3. You can
search for more info on creating surround. The other audio tracks
may be directors comments other languages.

Now back to DVDA........

If you look at the timeline view you will see the tracks have a number in the
upper right corner of the colored box.

In the Project Overview area click on your movie. Add Audio Track will change from
greyed out to active. Click on Add Audio Track. New tracks will be added. You will
notice two dashes ( -- ) will appear on each track. You can specify the language
for each track. I would identify the track even if you only have one track. If you click
on the word Audio you can identify the track (rename it for your reference only).
Drag your audio file you prepeared in Vegas to the right of the track name.

Click on your Main Menu page. Click on Insert Submenu. This will create another
menu page with a return. Insert two (or more) empty buttons. Under Button
Properties - Action choose your destination. You can choose the Movie if when
button is pressed you want to go directly to your movie, or Parent Menu to go up
one level (the Main menu for example). Under Set Audio Track change it from
"No change" to the number of the track you want played. Change each button as
needed.
