Audio Stops After a Few Seconds

That's basically it. I get some 1280x720 video from my Windows Phone, (.MP4 AVC/AAC), load it up into Vegas 10 x64 and the audio just stops after a few seconds.

I have to a) load it with Quicktime and dump it back out as an AVI or something, or b) open it in SoundForge (9) and dump it back out as whatever. Both those programs have no problem with the audio. Even WMP will play the videos just fine.

Vegas just won't.

Any ideas? (I have Vegas 11...haven't tried it yet. It's on a non-hooked up-yet machine.)

Provide MediaInfo output for the files.
Better yet, provide an upload of original file somewhere for examination.

Vegas doesn't handle QT files very well. Render a proxy or intermediary in a Vegas friendly format. Yes, it's a PITA.
By all means post file info anyway. as MV suggests.

According to GSpot -

Container:
isom: MP4 Base Media v1 [IS0 14496-12:2003]
- mp41: MP4 v1 [ISO 14496-1:ch13]

Audio: mp4a: MPEG-4 AAC LC
Video: H.264/MPEG-4 AVC

Just wondering why SoundForge & WMP doesn't mind it.
