First off, my computer is a Athlon 2500, 512 RAM, 120GB HHD, On-Board Audio
I experience three basic audio problems and i'm wondering if the fact that i only have "on board" sound and not a seperate sound card could be the reason.
1. When capturing video from the camera, if i have any audio running (music or sound editing) the video comes out blurred and chunky with distorted audio.
2. When i edit, if i have more then about 4 tracks going at once, some tracks will not play and somtimes the audio will not run at all for a second or two after i hit play. The audio will also drop out during transistions or during scenes that are effect laden.
3. If i render with any audio running (music or sound editing) the render will besilent with jumpy video.
So heres my theory, if I buy a new sound blaster audigy, the audio pressesing load will be taken off the CPU and will make for clearer, stutter free, distortion free audio.
I'm i right?
and, what level of sound blaster should i buy? i was thinking of a used first generation sound blaster audigy platinum with that cool "live-drive" thing....wold that work?
thanks for your ideas,
scott
