audio sync in VMS Platinum build 148

I am thinking of upgrading from platinum 12 to 14, and the August 17 build 148 seems to include the ability to auto sync audio, which would be great for auto-aligning video/soundtrack with separate (Tascam) audio tracks. However when I have tried to do this in the demo version (tools/multicamera/synchronise audio to align events) although it goes through the process (% bar) nothing then seems to happen. Should this work? Can anyone help/advise? thanks

Cornico, thanks for the clip you attached - this was how I expected it to work so I then did some more trials. I don't have much multi-camera footage but what I have would sometimes align fine, whereas others it seemed to put the audio in a random place. Other times I got an error message ("an event could not be aligned with the reference event"). If I pasted two copies of the same footage this aligned perfectly, even if I ungrouped the 2nd copy and deleted the video, leaving only the audio track. I have still not managed to get external audio to align at all (could this be different sampling rates?). The auto-align by audio seems to be a new feature so while potentially very welcome probably needs a bit more development? For now I think I will stick with manual align then grouping. Thanks for your help though.
