Auto Captions for VEGAS Pro

@Julius_

Yes, but the auto captions only underline the words natively. To make the highlighted words larger, you will need to create a preset in Aegisub and replace the tags. Inside the Auto Captions .zip file, there are tutorials. Check tutorial 08 and see if it's what you need. In this tutorial, the preset used creates a highlight box around the active word. In your case, you just need to edit the preset to use a larger word.

Auto Captions for Vegas v2.0.4 Update

Note: Anyone who already has Auto Captions for Vegas installed, must completely uninstall the previous version before installing the new version. After installing the new version, restart Windows according to the Tutorial 01 (Installation) in the Tutorial folder.

In this update, the installation may take about 5 minutes. This happens because in this new update, I used the latest version of Whisper, which is nearly 5GB. This is because Whisper now integrates a new diarization engine and also a new engine that separates individual elements from an audio mix. This opens up a wide range of possibilities for new features in the future.

Auto Captions for Vegas - Changelog
===================================

Version 2.0.4 - March 24, 2025

   separates individual elements of an audio mix.
 - Enable the Speaker ID Option (Seer tutorial 11)
 - Create Animated subtitles Option using Aegisub (See tutorial 14)
 - Edit Subtitles Files Option using Subtitle Edit (See tutorial 15)
 - The minimum number of characters per line has been changed from 21 to 10.

 - The interface has been reorganized

 FIXED:
 - Clicking the "Help" link in the activation window caused an error.

Speaker ID is very interesting. I was going to suggest a feature where speakers can be moved to their own track but I watched the tutorial video 11 and you've already implemented it under the find text feature!

Users may not find it there so if it's possible to turn into a checkbox in the main screen that would be very convenient.

In a post on Vegas Pro AI, A request by jacknsb and I agree with was made:

"Subtitles – I just wrapped up a project I’ve been working on for the last few days and needed to add subtitles. While I wish there were better built-in text templates, I created my own to use for subtitles. However, the way the built-in subtitle feature splits lines based purely on character limits makes it impractical for long projects. With all the AI tools available now, wouldn’t it be possible to break subtitles into more natural sentence structures instead of just by character count? This is one feature I still have to use a separate app for on projects."

Is this possible with your software?

@jredmond

Download the trial version and see if it meets your needs. The trial version allows the user to use 50 sessions before it expires. Check out the tutorials, they will guide you through the process.

Hi there, I've installed the Auto Captions Trial Version for Vegas Pro 21, and it's still not showing the icons to the right of the "Vegas Hub Logout", yes I've followed step 1, installed the version, restarted PC, and no I haven't installed any earlier versions. I also enabled quick time as well.

joelsonforte.br wrote on 7/24/2025, 5:54 PM

@TimeTree

You can access it in three ways:
1. Through the Script Menu

2. Creating a shortcut on the Toolbar

3. Using the Extension

In the Extension option, to snap the window into the interface, you need to hold down the "Control" key on the keyboard and drag the window to the spot where you want it to snap into place.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to get in touch.

Not bad, any tips for making audio not as muffled sounding so the captions can detect it slightly better?

joelsonforte.br wrote on 7/24/2025, 11:15 PM

@TimeTree You can improve the audio a bit by adjusting the equalization.

TimeTree wrote on 7/27/2025, 10:20 AM

Very Cool, definitely worth using the trial version and see if it's what you need, and Also only a one-time purchase with including updates. This is a huge improvement over the single Transcription that Vegas uses (not that it's bad, it's very slow and makes mistakes lol). I really like the auto import feature very cool!

Stephen-Ottley wrote on 8/1/2025, 5:16 AM

I've been working with this app now for only about one week but I can already confirm it has not only saved me hours of work manually creating subtitles, it is also very easy to use and very accurate. Obviously it is necessary to check the text once the captions are created, but very few actually require correcting. Joelson is very responsive to queries and questions and has guided me in a couple of instances that allowed me to very simply align the text so as to avoid the certain areas of the video. In short he has made subtitling fun!

joelsonforte.br wrote on 8/1/2025, 9:10 AM

@TimeTree and @Stephen-Ottley

Thank you all very much for your kind and detailed comments!
I'm truly glad to hear that you're enjoying the app's features — from the convenience of automatic import to the accuracy and speed of subtitle generation, which you mentioned is already saving you hours of manual work. It's incredibly rewarding to see that the user experience has exceeded your expectations and that the support has helped make the process even smoother.

Feedback like yours motivates me to keep improving and innovating, making the subtitling process more enjoyable and efficient. I sincerely appreciate your trust and recognition.

Warm regards, and once again, thank you all so much!

Sincerely,
Joelson
