I have been a user of Vegas since Vegas 3. Some years ago, I had a script that would automatically put a series of photos on the timeline, add varying transitions, and add pan/crop movement to each photo. I haven't had reason to use it for many years, but just got a job that calls for such a tool. Can the new Vegas 22 or 23 do this by itself, or is there a script somewhere that I can import?

I have sort of answered my own question, in that I see the 'Slideshow' tool in the Insert menu. It seems very similar to what I had before. However there does not seem to be a way of choosing which transitions are applied. It seems you have to choose one particular transition or just random from all. I would like to be able to be random from a list I set, and also the pan/zoom is too much, it would be much better if it was adjustable to be more subtle. Does anyone know if this is possible?

@jeffagwm Hi, I don't think you're going to get a satisfactory answer to that. There's plenty of apps on the market that do these slideshow type effect, some better than others but none are going to suit everyone, so there's always going to be adjustments needed to be made to suit each individual person. Even if there was an app where you could choose the transitions, adjust their controls & duration you'd have to go through each transition & tune it to your liking. The same goes for a script, that would have be written to suite your needs & then to use it on different projects adjustments might need to be made if you didn't want it exactly the same each time.
It might be better to manually adding your transitions to a project (Or use the random Slideshow option), make adjustments to the transitions & if you want to reuse it in the future save it as a project (as a template). You can then use the Replace feature in Project Media to swap the images in the next project you do..

I used UltimateS Pro 4 for many years and loved it. It worked in Sony VP13, but heard it didn't work with Magix VP14 and later. Does it really work in Magix VP23 for example?
Works with all versions of Vegas Pro.
Thanks to everyone for the replies. Does anyone know where I can get a copy of UltimateS Pro if it is not sold anymore, but still works in all versions.
On a side note, I saw the name of Douglas Spotted Eagle in the screenshot of UltimateS. I took a couple of different in-person Vegas training courses taught by him back in the day.
Did you look at the video I posted? It's Montage Magic which adds Pan/Crop changes and allows quickly editing the beginning and ending locations on each image and tries to be smart about the starting and ending locations if faces are identified. As of now, it's also free to use. The only thing it does not do is place the images on the timeline for you.
Not sure how you'd purchase a product from a company that's been closed for a few years.
@jeffagwm Montage Magic that jetdv suggests to you is an excellent solution, its quite versatile. And fitting what you are seeking, seeing that Vegas's Slideshow feature has some limitations.
