Auto play on start

Seems like every time I upgrade (Vegas Pro11 & DVDA 5.2), I'm all thumbs. Sorry to ask such a basic question, but I didn't find it by searching the forum.

I've have an hour movie (play) that I want to auto run when the DVD is loaded. It seem like sometimes when I make a DVD it plays when loaded, and other times, you have to click play/start to have it play. One guy told me he waited for 20 minutes for it to play before clicking on on play :-)

I assume this is decided in DVDA, so what do I need to set for the finished DVD to auto play on loading?

Thanks.

Dave

The autostart section in DVDAPro determines what plays first - a intro movie or a particular menu.

Are you discussing auto play performance on a DVD delivered to a PC ?????( can not be strictly controlled although OS prefs come into use most of the time).

OR set-top players ??? - you must test several diff players - if they vary in perfomance - its the individual player's fault.

To make an auto-start DVD, you need only make a DVD with no menus.

As soon as you load it into your disc player, your movie will start.

Steve:

I deleted the menu field that pops up in the center window when I first went into DVDA, at least I think I did. I don't use menus, but sometimes the disc auto starts, and other times I have to push play. This disc will be played on a regular DVD player for the most part.

You have to select the video as your First Play. If you create a NEW project, you can make a single movie only DVD which does all of this for you.

But there still may be some DVD players that do not work right.

That's a help. I don't know about this First Play, didn't see that anywhere, but If I started over with NEW, then select Single Movie, I'm sure it will work.

Last time I just open the program and brought in the file. I'll remember to always do File - NEW I select Single Movie. Now for 4.5 hours of rendering.

Thanks for your help.
