Auto re-formatting of menu thumbnails

I can't seem to figure this one out still...

I'm trying to understand if there is a way to manually set up a grid of thumbnails for the menu screen, then have DVDA straighten them out (space the evenly).

I see there's a 'space across' button, but if it even does anything when I click it (most times it doesn't), the results are that it seems to just scatter them around. The manual doesn't seem to mention them (not in the index). I know it's not broken or anything... I just don't get how it works.

Is there a 'clean up/align' type button... or some window where I can specify the number of rows and columns, and then have it reformat the menu screen layout?

Not sure if it's what your asking, but you do have to select the thumbnails before using the alignment tools.

Ya, I'm doing that... but it's still not doing what I am expecting it to.

Say I have a project that defaults to a '6 thumbnail across' menu layout., and I want to increase the size of the thumbnails and make it only 4 across. I select all of them, set the new thumbnail size, and manually arrange them (roughly) in a 4 across layout (...unless there's some handy function that allows me to tell it to do a '4 across' layout automatically... which is one of the things I'm asking). Now that I have a rough (not necessarily properly aligned and spaced) '4 across' layout, is there a button or function I can use to straighten things out?

The center button works as expected... and I had thought the 'space across' button would evenly space the selected thumbnails... but it just seems to scatter them (making them overlap too). I tried looking it up in the manual to see if there was something I was obviously missing with it's use, but it doesn't appear to be in the manual.

[Late addition: Well, as luck would have it, now that I posted about it, it seems to work fine! Maybe I was selecting multiple rows, and that was messing it up or something... I'm not sure. But it seems to be working fine now. I feel like a moron, but at least I got it working!]

check the help file for "grid." all you'll want to know is there.
