Autofade when Cut ??

This is one I have been dealing with for quite some time, and I hope there is a setting in the options that I'm missing.

When you sit on a track(s) and make a cut, Vegas automatically adds a small amount of fade-out & fade-in on both the video & audio track.
Is there an option that eliminates this? i.e. just makes a straight cut without added fades

I do not want any fades in the cut most of the time.

I've never had Vegas pit a fade on a video event after splitting it.
The audio fade (a very quick one to prevent popping) can be altered in "Options - Prefs - Editing" and adjusting the time in the "Quick fade length for audio events" option box.
It won't go lower than 1 ms. so don't try setting it to '0'.

This is done so that you don't have clicks in your audio as the waveform jumps from one point to another because the chances of you cutting a frame on a zero waveform boundary are extremely unlikely.

Can you hear the fade? If you can't hear it... it doesn't exist. ;-) But seriously, this is added to avoid clicks in your audio edits. It is so small the human ear cannot hear it.

Thanks guys, I actually overlooked the "Quick fade length for audio events" option

The default appearently is 10ms, which I could actually hear, when one of the tracks split had music, and was anoying.
After I set it to 1ms, I could not, so all is good.

You can also turn that on or off under the 'options' menu.
