Is there a way to disable Vegas adding a short fade on either side of a splice in audio? I hate having to zoom in and remove the little fades after making a cut in an audio track. TIA
Yup. Can't look at the Vegas toolbar right now, but you can fish around and find it. Think they're called "quick audio fades" or something like that. Turning that off will do it for ya.
You can accomplish this permanently in Options/Prefs/Editing.
There is also a script on the VASST site (free) that removes these fades from selected events.
Be careful, it's easy to introduce pops depending on what and where in the audio you're cutting. That's why those fades are there.
It's not in the preferences. In preferences you can reduce it to 1ms but you can't turn it "off". To actually turn it off, just make sure you turn off: Options - Quickfade audio events.
The quickfade sounds a bit counterintuitive. I find myself doing the opposite, small audio crossfades, to smooth out audio edits. Seems like a quickfade would make any dissonance between edits slightly more pronounced, no?
Me Too!
Thanks!
ands thanks for bringing ths old post up Guitard....
Most times when Im searching for an answer in old posts I read them and then go on not reposting a reply.
Sometimes doing just what you did helps others like me.
I gotta keep that in mind.
Thanks again to all for the answers.
I just posted about a the cursor in v6 (that I'd like to shut off). It's probably been brought up before. But a search for "cursor" brings up 1,800+ returns. I would imagine this was brought up early on in one of those 1,800+ posts. But the search function doesn't allow you to search from the beginning - you can only start from most recent and go backwards.
