Automation

Soundscape recently released a new driver and console
set for the Mixtreme (v1.1). It lets you automate thru
MIDI, faders and all automatable parameters....cool!
This will hopefully hold me over until Sonic Foundry
releases a version of vegas that supports hardware control
of its automation...Please hurry SF, cuz I forsee all kinds
of headaches using the Mixtreme system for mixing, and I
know Vegas has a much easier envelope control.
So far I have sent Vegas' outputs thru a mixtreme with
the mixtreme console zeroed out, back thru my TASCAM da's
into my console to be mixed, than recorded back into Vegas
from my toyz-r-us Gina spdif I/O.
Now, hopefully(!), I can use the mixtreme mixer as it
was intended, control it with a Mackie Ultramix fader pack,
and record back into vegas from the last two channels of
the Mixtreme. I think this will get rid of a whole bunch of
my sync issues, and I would bet some phasiness too, as
EVERYTHING will be running off one clock....or so my theory
goes!
