Try a lower bitrate... between 15 to 19k is perfectly fine and barely noticable in difference to 25k

OK I got good HDV on a 4.5gb DVD. I rendered 1080i project to AVC using Good option with14440x1080i 29fps at 25 CBR and then burnt that to Nero digital AVC using the Sony/PS3 profile as I am playing back on a PS3. It looked better than my .m2t render and the file size much smaller. Thanks you all for leading me this way.

Use BEST setting.. it might take a il longer to render, but its worth it... also it doesnt take any more bandwidth

DJ: When I rendered as BEST the file was reported as "corrupt" and would not play. Any thoughts?

DJ: I upgraded to Vegas8 and same thing. When I try to play the mp4 on my computer with Nero Showtime it stil says corrupted file and QT says unsupported format. This alays happens when i use the best settings. Other settings were 1440x1080, 29uuf, 20Mbps. Render to "Good" and no problem?

it shoudl not matter whether its good or best, the file is still suing teh same structure, the only difference is the render algorythms used for the render.

I would strongly suggest you send you rquery to SOny support, theyre the only ones wo can help you.

heres hoping for update 8b...
