I'm new in the video manipulation and like to get your expertise concerning saving a AVCHD file. I 'm recording video in AVCHD Format and I'm not too sure that I did understant this.

When I download an AVCHD video from a Sony camera to the computer, if I understant, in NEW PROJECT, you must select an OUTPUT TYPE. What mean DV Camera? HDV Camera? and BlueRay? Are these not all the same? What is the best format to save an AVCHD format to keep the highest quality? I though that AVCHD was a higher HD format.

Thanks for help

I don't use the 'New Project Wizard' other than to just type in a name and click finish to get started. Hit Alt + Enter to bring up project properties > click on the folder icon in the top right > browse for a clip of your media and double click it, and this will set your project properties to match your media. That should give you the best possible format for that media, and from there you can render it to whatever outputs you may want later. Let us know if that helps. Cin
