AVCHD @1920x1080

Hi

I've recently purchased both a Sony TG3e AVCHD Camcorder, which can record @ 1920x1080 and a copy of Movie Studio 8d.

I can import the m2ts files without an issue, but cannot then export at 1920x1080. The template defaults to 1440x1080 and I cannot change this to the higher resolution.

All I want to do (currently), is to use Movie Studio to concatenate the multiple files produced by the camcorder into 1 file so it can be played on my PS3. FYI, the PS3 cannot yet serially play multiple video files, even if they're in the same folder. I can play each file separately without issue, but have to select each one individually - a pain if there are 30 or more "scenes"...

Hope my question makes sense.

Thanks in advance.

John

As far as I know VMSP is limited to - as you say- output in 1440 where the full Vegas (Pro version) can do 1920.

After you edit them all together, I would suggest you export at 1280x720, bitrate 5mbps, aspect ratio 1.000, using the WMV encoder. Given the fact that the PS3 can not read the non-square pixel aspect ratios of WMV, and WMV is the only delivery-grade codec that Platinum offers, you will have to go down to 1280x720.

Hopefully, the next version of Vegas Platinum won't have this limitation.
