AVCHD (M2TS) time line is blue until

My timeline from AVCHD (M2TS) is blue until i split theat frame - then i can see it. AVI timelines work fine - both play in preview. How can i correct this. thanks

Please provide more information - project properties, what the clips are (presumably 1920x1080 AVCHD) etc?
