"I haven't read this entire thread - just the title of it."

You need to read the first post to see what the OP really wants, namely a way to concatenate a series of AVCHD .MTS files into a single file without re-encoding.

I have couple of updated questions related to VideoReDo. I have made a couple of joined mts files. I still need to review to see how the transition are going, but so far the program seemed to join them ok. When I selected the H264 .M2Ts file format when I save my new joined file, is the M2TS format the same as my original MTS AVCHD file? VidoeReDO does not offer a mts file save as option.

2nd question, I have joined a number of 1080i AVCHD mts files from my Sony camcorder. I have also tried joining a number of 1080p AVCHD files from my newer Sony camcorder, but VideoReDo always crashed before compleing the joining operation. Anyone else experience issues with 1080p files on this sofware?

Lastly, also about VideoRedo, when you save a project, it does not appear to save the join file list. Is there a way to save the joiner file list so I could open it later and rejoin the same set of files to a different format if desired?

I can answer your first question.

AVCHD is based on Blu-ray, which by convention has AVC files having a .m2ts extension (MPEG2 Transport Stream). The file system used for cameras can only support all caps file names with a 8.3 format (as in FAT16) and either 2 GB or 4 GB max size (depending on whether signed or unsigned arithmetic is used). So .m2ts is renamed .MTS. That is, .m2ts and .MTS are one and the same.

Regarding #2 and #3, start separate threads on the VideoRedo forum.
I'm sure they will look at your crash issue right away, and being able to save the joiner list in the project is a worthy suggestion.
