I should have articulated; "If you're using an AVCHD camcorder, " not outputting to AVCHD BD discs.
Apologies for any confusion.

"I should have articulated; "If you're using an AVCHD camcorder, " you can always tell a forum newbie on his first posting ;-)

I usually output the final product to the web. The camera I use is an Sony HDR-SR8 which records to the hard drive. More info for this camera can be found at: http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-home.pl?mdl=HDRSR8&LOC=3 and http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-home.pl?mdl=HDRSR8 What is the problem you are experiencing or have a question on?

I don't think he is needing help :)

I think he is wanting those who have these type cams to send him a PM (via his user name- click it). No worries, it is safe. He is not new here :)

Sorry if my comment was taken as a slight and I do apologize for it. I use the camera only for work as a contractor and usually get asked about it in that line of questioning. I will drop Spot a line at his e-mail since I would like to pick his brain on a couple of things about Vegas Pro 8 and cameras to use for it. Thanks.

I didn't take it as a slight. Now Apit on the other hand :-)

I have a little mini AVCHDD it's an HDR-SR1 that I use for certain things. I am using Vegas 8 as I thought the supposed additional MTS file support would help. Crash after crash is what I am getting.

Even if I can open the darn files and bring them in, when I go to open the project again it crashes. I get versions of the following, I click ok and it closes. If you have a work around I'd love to hear it. I'm having a devil of a time.

Thanks,
Laura

"Now Apit on the other hand :-)" Yea, that's us oldies helping the newbie DSE about cameras............ next time, newbie DSE will probably be asking about how to use VEGAS for the first time. ;-)
Spot|DSE wrote on 3/19/2008, 8:52 PM
I already know how to use Vegas for the first time. It's the SECOND time I'm struggling with. ;-)

Doug - you're such as n00b! lol. Hats off to Richmond / Cedric for coming in and trying to be helpful on his first postings!

Let's hope he comes back to the forums and stays around. (hi and welcome etc)

"I already know how to use Vegas for the first time. It's the SECOND time I'm struggling with. ;-)" Well, it must be that you must have used VEGAS 8 in Vegas, and as we all know from those very knowledgeable TV ads, what you do in Vegas--- stays in Vegas!!!

Of course, with the "what you do in Vegas--- stays in Vegas!!!" mindset, this could explain some individuals difficult in outputting BD from VEGAS 8 time line! ;-)
