*.avi files (?)

msandino wrote on 6/28/2001, 11:13 PM
Why everytime I want to open or insert an avi file, I don't get nothing more than a music track on the timeline?
The music plays so far, but none the video.
The only avi files that open properly are all the ones provided on the tutorial.
What do I need to do to fix this problem?

Thanks a million for your worthy help.

Best Regards,

perhaps the avi you are using was created with a codec that is not installed on your machine, or perhaps it is not a vfw (Video for Windows) codec. That would account for the behavior you are seeing. If you can open the file in Windows Media Player, you can usually check properties and see what codec was used-

If you post that info here I'll be glad to help you further.
