Avi files into a m2t show.

Searched but couldn't find this. I've got some of avi files to be included in a show that's made up of m2t files.

The avi s were shot at SD on a Panasonic GS400 16:9 but look sad beside the HiDef m2t files from a Canon A1 at 16:9. The output will be an SD DVD.

Is there a way of improving the look of the avi files, even just a tad? Thanks.

In what way do they look "sad"? Is it on the timeline or in a rendered vob? If you haven't rendered it yet, maybe it won't look so different once the m2t files are rendered down to SD.

Thanks MS. On the timeline the AVIs look blurred with jaggies etc. Of course the m2t files are HD and there will be a difference on the SD DVD but the AVIs should look better at this point.

Previously I used these AVIs with VMSP 8 and they looked fine on the timeline. Same computer, but earlier Vegas capture program I think..?

Good point about the post rendering. First I'll try recapturing a few in VMSP9b and see if there's any improvement on the T/L.

Cheers.

What project properties template? If one of the HDV ones, I can see how the SD video might look jaggy on the TL. What Preview quality setting?

I wouldn't think the Video Capture program would make much difference in capture, regardless of version. I have 6.0e (Build 1000) that came with VMSP8.

As you know, interlaced video doesn't look good on a progressive scan PC monitor. Don't make a judgment call on quality solely from what you see on the TL, you've got to render it and view it on the intended target.
