AVI on SD card

I've been asked to burn a DVD from avi files on an SD card. No idea what the camera was, but the attributes of each clip are:
160x128x24, Format XviD, MPEG-4, no field order, 1/1 pixels, no alpha channel. I got them into the computer via a card reader, and imported to VMS Platinum 8.0d.
I can edit and preview fine in VMS but when I render, I get a blank screen, with audio only. I tried MPEG1,2 and AVI.
I'm sure it's the settings in Make Movie, but can anyone help? This is urgent, but I have to work without other source information.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Reg

Re-install the XViD decoder/encoder and retry.

Thanks, Eugenia. How do I find that? It doesn't seem to be in the program (is that the prob?)

The codec downloaded OK, but won't install - I get an "access denied" error as there is a dll already in the windows/system32 folder - xvidfw.dll
Dare I delete it and carry on with the install? There are also xvid.ax and xvidcore.dll files there.
Eugenia? Anybody?

First, find which application installed these. If you don't need the application, remove these and install the new version.

Thanks againj, Eugenia. It was AVS Vide Converter, a program I bought a few years ago and forgot about. I tried converting using all of the AVS codecs, but the only one that worked was to MPEG. Looks like I'll have to do this project by converting all the clips to MPEG and pasting them together in an MPEG editor. Not neat, but the customer is hopping!
Thanks for your attention, E!

Actually, AVS Video converter did an acceptable job, appending the video clips together. Job complete, now I'll experiment with the other XviD.
Thanks, Eugenia, this issue closed.
