AVI streams not determined??

I am trying to bring in an avi into DVDA 4.0a, but when I highlight it in the DVDA explorer I get...
Video: Stream attributes could not be determined
Audio: Stream attributes could not be determined

Why is this? I plays perfectly well in VLC, Nero's ShowTime. Though I do have to admit that Windows Media Player does have problems - but then when doesn't it? ;-)

Anybody have any ideas why this is happening or what I can do to investigate this and possibly resolve this issue??

Thanks
Kevin

Need to know more about the avi - how was it acquired/captured?

Google a program called GSpot, download it, and run it to determine what codec is being used by that AVI. An AVI is not so much a format but a container for other formats. You probably have to download a codec that will allow you to use that AVI in DVD Architect. (Curious, though, that it can't determine the audio, either. Usually, even if a file has a weirdo video codec, DVDA will recognize the audio.)

OK GSpot gives a lot of info so here we go.
Video: Xvid 480x360 with 1066 kb/s
Audio: 0x0055(MP3) ID'd as MPEG-1 Layer 3 101kb/s VBR LAME 3.97
Stream Type: OpenDML AVI (what ever that means)

And it seems it was ripped by VirtualDubMod 1.5.4.1

DVDA doesn't understand MP3? Doesn't understand Xvid? Really?
