AVI transparency - what is going on?

I really need to get animated buttons and cursers in with a transparency.

What do I need to do/use to get the transparency that the "included" buttons have.

Really need help!

My experimentation seems to imply that when an AVI is used as a button, the color BLACK is considered to be transparent. The question is, does it use a range of black, or only the color 0,0,0? Not really sure. I know that the AVI files used in the included buttons (for the "animated" theme) have pure black backgrounds.
