avi video question

I have a video my brother took of me while following me. We were out riding our bike and I wanted to put it on a dvd through vegas. When I imported it into vegas I had sound and no video and I noticed it was an avi file so I figured that was the problem. How do I remedy that to get the video to show so I can edit it.

What did he shoot on?

If he shot video on a digital still camera, it will probably be an MJPEG type avi, which means you need to download and instal an MJPEG codec such as Morgan.

yeah it was shot on a digital still cam, so i will try what you said and see if it works. thanks
