Background music in DVDA

Hi,
I just made a DVD-compilation where I highlight menu selections (just plain text) by using different menu pages so that the selected item is always green and bold, unselected just plain white. (5 items, 5 pages).

So far so good. But, how can I make background music for the menus? I mean that when I change the menu-item, a new menu page is also loaded and any background music will start again from beginning since it is tied to specific menu-page. How can I make continuous music regardless what page is selected until the movie itself is started?

Am I mistaking here something or did anyone actually understand what I'm trying to accomplish?

And I must admit that I've not read the DVDA-manual, so if it is described there, just RTFM me.

You can't make the music continue across menus. Each menu is an entity to itself, as soon as you go from one menu to another, the background music will change to whatever is specified on the new menu.

MRe, I think there are much easier ways to create such a simple menu without resorting to five menus or menu pages. If you're okay with just green text for the highlighted item, then setting the highlight type to Text Mask Overlay and adjusting the color set should work out fine. If you require actually changing the text itself (ie, bold), check the online Help / manual for Custom Highlight Masks. (Or search the forum for those words.)

The multiple-menus trick is overly complex and will most likely result in a slight pause as the viewer moves from one menu item to the next. And, of course, doesn't allow for continuous background music.

Thank you bStro and others. I knew that there is easier way to accomplish what I'm after. I'm happy with color and leave custom masks for next time.
