Background static

After filming i noticed my footage had a slight static noise in the background. Is there any way to get rid of it in post production?

assuming are talking about audio, sony noise reduction will help you out.,free trial ,try it and you will buy it,

That's exactly what I was going to suggest. It's good. I've put audio tapes onto CD for people (the last one I did was of a funeral... WEIRD) and I've taken out some pretty bad hiss. My clients have been very pleased with the results.
