I never use that function. I put all media for a project in the folder with that project file, then back up the folder.

agree with chienworks. simply keep everything in a 'project' folder.

Vegas copies only those media files, which are used in the timeline. Make sure this is so.

Yes thats the way to do it for sure :)

It copy's all thats in the project media window.
Have the image seq in time line also.
It copy's all files, still images except the image sequences.

I've never used internal Vegas backup modalities. I use Acronis TI for everything-at-once system stuff, and then Cobian freeware for on-the-fly for all audio-visual work, i.e. Vegas files and their content, ditto for Cubase, Particleillusion and my still digital stuff, etc.. I have a "job" for each in Cobian and just periodically hit whatever one in it that is relevant to what I am doing at the time. Cobian is very reliable, have used it for years. I'm a bit backup manic :)
