Can some one help? I have imported an avi file into Vegas video that has a bad audio. Then right click and open it in sound forge then get the audio to sound better using click & crack and other plug ins then try to save or close the sound forge but it tells me it can't save it. How do I get the fixed audio back to the video. thanks

Right Click on the file in Windows, select Properties, and make sure it isn't set to Read Only.
Mine works fine, in using SF7.0 when just opening the audio that is attached to an AVI. You might have to select the audio, right click on it and select GROUP>REMOVE FROM. This seperates the audio from the video. I would inspect the Windows properties first though of the source file. If you copied it from a CDrom or DVDrom onto your hard drive the files properties will be defaulted to "Read Only". Make sure to uncheck that property.

from Vegas:
1. Right click/Open COPY in Sound Forge
2. Edit in SF
3. Close SF. It will ask if you want to save the file you just adjusted. Choose yes, let SF name it. Let it close.
4. Vegas will automatically see the new file as a take in the timeline. Nothing more to do. To audition between the original and the take, highlight/select the audio and press the "T" key. This will let you toggle between the original and the new/edited audio.
