Batch Converter

Where is "Batch Converter" utility? Recently I installed Vegas 4e - the file from downloads, instead of from my CD. I cannot find, or at least am not able to work the batch converter program.

I cannot do a custom install from the CD because it only allows for a full install. I would be installing version 4a over 4e. I would then have to reinstall 4e again. I am still unclear on whether you should uninstall a previous version of Vegas before updating, or you can just install over a preveous version, I have seen both methods suggested on this forum. Does any one have a definitive answer?

Back to my problem, I can extract the batch converter separately; however when I tried to install it, I was asked for a serial number. It is my understanding that this program is free. And of course "batch conversion" is not mentioned anywhere in the manual. Any ideas?

I my be mistaken, but I think that you have to download the script file and then add to your script. Sundance have a lot of scripts.

There is a "batch render" script included with the install under "sample scripts." Sundance does have scripts related to batch conversion/renders.

What I am referring to is the program called "Batch Conversion" which can be found in the extras section of the installation CD. I was told by someone on this forum that all these programs are demos except for batch conversion. Does anyone know what the deal is? Thanks.

I know it was included on the Vegas 3 CD but I don't remember seeing it on the Vegas 4 CD. I know you used to be able to download it from the Sonic Foundry site. Might want to look there in the downloads section.

Batch Converter or Batch Render?

Batch Converter is a Program.

Batch Render is a Script.

I had to pay for the Batch Converter Program but I downloaded a Batch Render Script for free.

Yeah, there's a demo of the Batch Converter program on the CD (plus some free ACID loops!). I read that same post a couple days ago and I popped in my V4 CD last night. But, it's a demo. :( It's a handy program. At my weekend job they have Soundforge 5, and it's included for free. :)
