Batch Converter 5.0b - Questions

I have a couple of questions regarding Batch Converter 5.0b.

1. The download page refers to Sound Forge 5, Sound Forge 6, or Vegas Video 3 as being prerequisites to download it for free. Since it makes no mention of Vegas 4.0, does that mean it already comes with it? Is it installed automatically? Or is it no longer needed if you have Vegas 4.0?

2. Has anyone clicked on the readme file and gotten a "Malicious Script" warning? I tried it twice and got the warning so I played it safe and did NOT open it.

Thanks!

I know batch converter is different from Vegas: it's just a conversion program. It was also included with V3 and SF 5/6. That's why you get a free copy. Does it entitle us V4 users to a free copy? I hope so! I was going to buy V3 because it came with it, but I missed the V3 final order deadline (didn't have the money in time). I wish I did get it!

I haven't gotten a script warning though. I use Netscape. Maybe it's an IE thing?

The download screen asks for a serial number from SF5 or SF6 or VV3. I already had SF5 so no problem with the serial number. Have you tried entering your V4 serial number? My guess is that it will work.

It just strikes me as strange that they make no mention of V4 and that's why I asked if there was similar functionality in V4.

And, of course, the virus warning for the readme file is a little disconcerting ...

Does anyone else know more about any of this?

You can do anything in VV4 that you can do in BC 5 -- just one file at a time.

I don't believe BC 5 was included in the VV4 package -- but the SoFo Plugin pack was (a better deal, unless you had already paid for it, like I did).
