Batch Render - Region Names?

Jay_Mitchell wrote on 12/20/2014, 1:54 AM
In Vegas Pro 13 - What needs to be changed so that when using the Batch Render Tool to render multiple named regions on the timeline - for the finished files to have those region names instead of the default names that Vegas produces.

I saw something online for older versions of Vegas Pro to change code in the program files.

Thanks,

Jay

If you have it, UltimatteS already uses Region names as rendered file names.

I made this post a while back. The script ignores the sony default name and renders the region name as the output file name. With some creative cut and paste in the edit details window you can use it to batch very large numbers of files. I use the script to batch render all my AVCHD files to xdcam or xavc. There is a default vegas script that will auto add regions to each edit point on the time line.

I have been using Veggie Toolkit Capture Cutter for this. But Vegas Pro 13 is not supported.
I think that it is possible to just change the code in the Batch Render Script file.
Just need the exact code to change.

The code is in the post I made. Cut and paste it into a new script file.

Vegasaur 2.0 does exactly that and much more.

VASST Render Assistant can do this as well and it's only $9.95 USD.

In the interest of "full disclosure" I work at VASST as wrote Render Assistant and all of the other FasstApps. ;-)

Do you know if VASST Render Assistant will simply use the Region names as the file names? In the built-in Vegas render, the filename includes all the file type information. I just want to render with my region names only.

Thanks,

VASST Render Assistant does it two ways, neither of which works for me.

The first is if you have NOT entered names for your regions. It will name the renders Projectname-(Region 001) etc. The problem is, it ignores the actual Region numbers and just assigns the number 001 to the first one it encounters. So if your region numbers are out of order, they will not correspond to the region numbers on the rendered files.

The second is if you HAVE entered names for your regions, It will print out with the name of the region only, so the rendered files do not include the Projectname.

I need Projectname-(actual region number).

@OldSmoke how to do it please explain

Use the “Transcoder” for all your render needs including rendering of regions. It can do even more; it can add trailers, transitions and more to your marked regions.

READ THE MANUAL!

@Jay_Mitchell and @dream

You can use the Transcoder or Quick Render of the Vegasaur to render regions with the name.

@Former user thanks i was stuck on 1:50 mark

but i was hoping for more simpler method than this ,say we dont have to edit or write on regions it automatically creates the file name of original file ,so that will be awesome ,another thing i found is batch render v5 script it also do the same thing ,but there also we have to put/ edit it manually ,but thank for this i will get it.

Vegasaur "Quick Render" can batch render selected files using the original file names.

Former user wrote on 8/31/2018, 2:25 AM

@dream

This is why there is a Macros option in Transcoder. Go to Output and in File Name click in the Macros option and choose the name that should appear in the files.

If you do not have what you are looking for, I'm sorry, but I can not help any more.

automatically creates the file name of original file ,so that will be awesome

So use "selected events" not regions.

it works with selected events ,but my work can't be done by this ,i have to do it with regions

looks like vegasaur has bug , it doesnt automatically creates the file name with regions with quick render ,

@vegasaur please fix this or give any solution

It's actually you who have a bug.

I'm pretty sure it's possible to render regions with the name of events using Quick Render, you just need to use the reasoning and correctly use the Vegasaur tools.

1.Create Regions and crop with the Split Events tool in Regions you have created.

2.Use the Select Events tool to select only the events that are within the regions.

3.Finally use Quick render to render the selected events.

If you do this correctly, the video files in the selected regions will be left with the same name as the original files when the rendering is finished.

thanks man you are so helpfull, but its little bit complicated i already use all of these ,but when you have more than 100 regions and also have 5 cuts in regions it makes more complicated thing,

above in there you did selected event thing but what about regions thing i find still a bug ,

anyway i have to edit it manually with batch render 5 script ,vegasaur is great ,can do things which is beyond ,but in this case i have to use script

I am almost certain there is no bug in Vegasaur. Maybe you have failed to explain what you are actually trying to achieve?
