BCC7 help/challenge

Here's the scenario:
I have a clip of a bird and I want to cut it out and have it fly across a static shot.
The bird is actually all over the frame because I was following it, but its sharp enough to cut it out using Vegas' pan/crop mask and get decent results.

Is there a way to 1) make the flying bird centered on the lower clip and then 2) have the stabilized bird fly along a path?

3) then is there anything else I should do to sell the effect?

I have BCC 7, but that's about it for plugins.

Thanks for any ideas!

Is the background a blue sky?

No, unfortunately cannot key it out like that.

What is the background? You may be able ti Luma-key it.

Well, its flying over the dark water, and its a pelican, so the values look pretty close.

I was able to make a pretty good animated mask frame by frame. Then I realized with a little more futzing around in pan/crop I was able to make it fly across the screen okay.

Of course, that is a little painstacking!

And I would like the bird to blend seamlessly into the static shot.

Thanks!

Yes you can

Track the bird using pan/crop [set your pan crop keys] and then mask with its keys
Make this a child track and motion key the parent track
