BD render settings question

Mindmatter wrote on 11/8/2013, 7:32 AM
Hi all,

about to render to my first BD...I'm a bit uncertain as to the various settings.
Should I use the Vegas typical HD 50i preset, or tweak some of it, like setting the video quality to max or use VBR?
Thanks!

AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, 12x 3.7 GHz
32 GB DDR4-3200 MHz (2x16GB), Dual-Channel
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070, 8GB GDDR6, HDMI, DP, studio drivers
ASUS PRIME B550M-K, AMD B550, AM4, mATX
7.1 (8-chanel) Surround-Sound, Digital Audio, onboard
Samsung 970 EVO Plus 250GB, NVMe M.2 PCIe x4 SSD
be quiet! System Power 9 700W CM, 80+ Bronze, modular
2x WD red 6TB
2x Samsung 2TB SSD

Use the BluRay render templates in Vegas, both video and audio.

Thanks musicvid. the thing that made me a bit suspicious is the video quality slider is set to 50% in the template. Why? And is 25000000 CBR not the better choice over VBR quality wise? Why no 2 pass? I hate it when unmoving objects or background suddenly turn completely static because of low bitrateVBR resolution.
File size is not an issue in this case.

Use the Sony AVC Blu-ray templates and make these custom settings. You'll be fine.

If space is not an issue and you have PCM audio already, you could use the WAV template.

Hey John! The link isn't working and I was looking for your optimized settings.

Here is the procedure for creating a 1280x720-59.94 progressive render template for the Sony AVC encoder.

The previous reference was PAL. I fixed the link.
