I pinged Behringer support to ask if they were doing a Mackie/Vegas specific emulation.

The answer was a vague keep checking the web site as they will be updating the firmware at some point.

Yes, thanks for your reports PAW. Very helpful for my decision making process. ;-)

Vegas keeps locking up on me while using this thing. Generally when I am not even touching it. Either vegas will lock up, or the bcf will just stop controlling anything. Anybody else having these problems? I am running it in usb mode with bcfview as well.

my problem is undos, if it moives a fader or changes the placement of a fader it takes forever to undo. frequently locking and crashing, If you are seeing this same thing let SF know since they couodnt repro mine

I have not had any problems with locking/crashing.

Tried the undo's and it appears OK, I will try some more and see how I get on but so far it seems to be pretty solid.

Well, at this point, I can't blame the behringer anymore. Seems I have BIG problems suddenly. Vegas crashes in any project with or without the control surface. All I have to do is play with the offset faders a bit on two tracks while playing and bam.

Odd thing is that, when locking it up with the bcf, the gui and audio will freeze. However, I can still move a physical fader and see the on screen fader respond.

Now I am in trouble...

Just got back from my week skiing (incl night skiing with full moon and Southern Cross and LOTR scenery as backdrop - wow !)......... and picked up my BCF2000.

Initially have a few problems with blue screens in usbohci.sys , but I'll get into that deeper later.

Just a few quick notes on the 'quality' thang. Being 20% of the price I guess you can't really expect it to be a Mackie, but it should be OK if you avoid standing on it. Side-cheeks are thinner molded plastic than similar style consoles I have experienced, and front-cheek (rounded part) is plastic rather than metal. The chassis is steel , though of lighter grade than Mackies are (using 1202VLZ-Pro and 24.8 as comparison). however the internal PCBs are fibreglass as opposed to phenolic. Faders are 'digital', so noise isn't a factor there. The motors look reasonable quality, but the toothed belts look mighty fine ( fine as in thin) - don't have any basis for comparison here...

There is a Yahoogroup for the BCF/BCR , name "BC2000".

Now to sort out the BSODs...

Oh yeah, forgot the really tacky thing - the feet are studs on the bottom on the side-cheeks. Hard plastic, like somewhat less-than-zero grip factor. Nothing that can't be fixed by a set of $2 stick-on rubber feet, but why-t-f ?!!!!

Not to come to Behringer's defense, but I certainly wouldn't expect much attention to these kinds of details in a unit that's selling for about $200. If the cheapo plastic thing gets the job done at this price, I'll gladly take care of some rubber feet and whatever else it needs in this area. ;-)

The rubber feet ship with the unit and have to be fitted yourself, they are only small so make sure you did not chuck them away with the packaging

who has tested multiple ones of these together?
